The Aci Greenway project stems from the desire to enhance the territory of Aci and the Timpa Nature Reserve by creating a cycle and pedestrian path on a former railway track abandoned in the 1970s, using European funding.
The section in question starts from Villa Belvedere heading north, extending up to the hamlet of S. M. degli Ammalati for a distance of 3 km.
